The BEEP special issue of Aquatic Toxicology is now officially accepted

The articles of the BEEP special issue of Aquatic Toxicology (supplement to volume 78) are now officially accepted and available on line in Science Direct (http://www.sciencedirect.com/).
The special issue contains articles related to the three laboratory exposures performed in Akvamiljø a/s (Stavanger, Norway) during the 3-year European Research BEEP project (Biological Effects of Environmental Pollution in Marine Ecosystems).
The goal of the project was to evaluate the use of biomarkers determined in marine organisms as a means of assessment of chemical contamination. This integrated multidisciplinary, multisite and multimarker research project combined European expertises in biology, biochemistry, ecotoxicology, environmental chemistry and data analysis. Joined studies were organised in the laboratory of Akvamiljø, 30 participants co-operated during several weeks to perform complementary works on an experimentally polluted mesocosms.

The special issue is funding by IRIS (International Research Institute of Stavanger) and Akvamiljø a/s.
