DrillTronics™ successfully installed on Statoil's Statfjord C

02.12.2014

The system has been developed by IRIS and commercialised by Sekal. It is the world's first permanently installed automated drilling system for conventional drilling.

After a successful commissioning on Statoil’s Statfjord C, DrillTronics™ was implemented on October 2, 2014. This made Statfjord C one of the world’s most advanced drilling rigs.

Drilling with DrillTronics™ started on October 5 and ran smoothly the entire time during all sections, from start to finish.
