ENOS: New Horizon 2020 project

21.04.2016

ENOS – (ENabling Onshore CO2 Storage in Europe)- has been selected for a 12.5 million euros grant by the EC and will last for 4 years (2016 – 2020).

The Project is an Initiative of CO2GeoNet and brings together SME’s, industry and research organisations.

The objective of ENOS is to enable the development of CO2 storage onshore in Europe by:
  1.  Developing, testing and demonstrating in the field, at pilot and experiment sites, key technologies specifically adapted to onshore contexts;
  2. Integrating CO2 geological storage into the socio-economical fabric of the concerned territories;
  3. Contributing to the creation of a favourable environment for onshore storage across Europe.

IRIS has an important role in the project. Roman Berenblyum is in the project management team and a work Package (WP) leader for the Dissemination WP. Together with IRIS Biomiljø, IRIS Energy has activities in several other WPs. One of the activities is a direct continuation of the ongoing REPP-CO2 project.

The project is expected to start in September-October and the negotiations with EU commission have started.
