New head of IRIS Energy

12.12.2013

Many of our clients and collaborative partners may recognize the name and the face of Kristin Flornes, as she is currently the Research Director of the reservoir group at IRIS Energy. As of January 1, 2014, Flornes will enter the management chair of IRIS Energy and join the IRIS management group.

Flornes holds a Dr.Ing degree in mathematics from NTNU and has worked a number of years within reservoir research on projects like development of reservoir simulation tools, improved reservoir management and history matching. Prior to joining IRIS, Flornes worked with seismic data acquisition for Schlumberger and energy market analysis for Point Carbon in Oslo.

President Ole Ringdal of IRIS says he is excited to bring Flornes to the IRIS management group. -Kristin brings us 8 IRIS-years of increasingly responsible experience in reservoir research and development. She has shown a talent for strategic thinking, and combined with her strong ability to deliver, I expect great thing from her.

-IRIS is a very interesting organization to be part of, says Kristin Flornes.  -We have exciting challenges ahead of us, and I am looking forward to tackle these tasks together with the experienced management team in IRIS Energy. I would also like to highlight the joy of working with all our talented researchers; they are our most important asset and they inspire me every day!
