This is the twelfth year in a row world leading data assimilation communities from Bergen, IRIS, Uni-Research-CIPR, NERSC, and Statoil, join to arrange the workshop on data assimilation and ensemble based methods.
The workshop’s aim is to bring experts, practitioners, researchers and students working in different disciplines together. This year's workshop attracted 55 attendees and had an impressive list of invited speakers:
- Andreas Størksen Stordal, IRIS
- Dan Crisan, Imperial College London
- John Harlim, The Pennsylvania State University
- Peter Jan van Leeuwen, University of Reading
- Chris Snyder, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR)
- Marius Heide, Statoil
The workshop had thirty one oral talks and one poster session. The topics addressed varied from predicting summer monsoon to history matching fractured reservoirs and from improving weather forecast to including 4D seismic in reservoir history matching. Furthermore, many talks presented developments and/or enhancements of the fundamental methodologies, all dedicated to improving our methods so that we can better understand, model and predict the behavior of our dynamic systems.
