My main area of research is limnology. Employed with IRIS (formerly Rogaland Research) since 1989, I have broad experience from planning and conducting various studies and monitoring activities in lakes and rivers, especially related to problems arising from eutrophication. I have a extensive experience with fieldwork and sampling, and solid knowledge of a range of limnological methods (chemical and biological). I am very familiar with the system for classifying environmental quality and the requirements for monitoring arising from the European Water Framework Directive. I also have broad experience with quality control systems for sampling/fieldwork and analytical laboratories (accreditation and GLP), and I am qualified as a technical assessor for Norwegian Accreditation (NA) and hired by NA for assessment (ISO 17025) of analytical laboratories and sampling organizations. I also work with ISO for standardization of sampling methods.
