IRIS' TFL Team is under contract to service the template wells on the Snorre UPA offshore Norway. Read more about TFL history at IRIS.
The Through Flow Line test loop consists of a full scale model of a sub sea well and template. The centre is under constant development and used for research, testing, training and qualification of TFL technology.
IRIS' TFL test centre is based on the ISO/DIS 13628 Part 3. It consists of a 450m test loop and scaffolding which approximately reproduces an offshore sub sea well template.
The facility features an engine room containing storage tanks, triplex pump and a pump manifold.
There is also a workshop and storage facilities.
Through Flow Line is a specialized well intervention method developed for servicing satellite wells on sub sea templates.
The TFL technique uses pump flow to propel the tool down into, and out of oil producing wells. This is especially profitable in remotely operated sub sea satellite wells.
