Wear & Erosion Flow Testing

This test facility can handle different fluids and has a high degree of flexibility in order to meet the needs of different projects.
Hydraulic driven centrifugal pumps are used for circulation at low pressure and enable step-less adjustment of the flow rate from zero to the maximum rate.
The facility comprises a flow test cell for annular production of sand and surface loops with different lengths and dimensions.

A particularly "famous" project that used this facility immediately after it was commissioned in 1983, was sand wear and endurance testing of down hole safety valves for the "Gullfaks Early Sub Sea Project".
The surface loops allow the facility to be highly adaptable for erosion testing of gate valves, plugs, smart well systems as well as surface and down hole equipment in general.
